Welcome to Brigham Young University's Native American Studies website.

Many American Indian and non-Indian students graduating from Brigham young university in studies such as education, sociology, business, and political science will be brought into contact with the Native American people because of the nature of their occupations.

The Native American studies minor is designed to supplement students of various disciplines so that they may become more culturally aware of the heritage of the American Indian, thus promoting better understanding and cooperation. The minor has been designed so that students may select classes from a variety of Interdepartmental courses, if desiring a general background, or a combination of classes for an in-depth study in a specific discipline.

In connection with the American studies program offered at Brigham Young University, students can obtain a major in American studies, with course work designed to emphasize the Native American.  Make application to or obtain further information from the history department.
