Redd Center Internship
The Charles Redd Center for Western Studies offers a paid 1 semester (Fall, Winter, or Spring+Summer) internship that will give students the opportunity to hone their research and writing skills while engaging in public history and publishing. Interns will work with Professor Brenden Rensink, the Redd Center Assistant Director, to research regional Intermountain West histories which they will then publish (with the student's name attached as author!) on the Intermountain Histories digital public history website (http://www.intermountainhistories.org) and mobile app (available for iOS and Android).
Learning how to translate academic historical research skills to writing for the general public will benefit students in any career path they chose to follow. The internship pays standard history department student wage rates. Students will work on a schedule (roughly 10 hours a week), but will be able to establish the times that work for them. Preference will be given to Junior and Senior history majors. There may be post-internship job opportunities as a Redd Center research assistant.
