Chris Karpowitz and I did byuradio together and talked about Gun Control in the wake of the latest shooting (this time at Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida). Chris pointed out that guns have a symbolic meaning to conservative voters, standing for a lot more than the right to bare arms. I agreed and, for that reason, didn't think that we will see a lot of change. Chris, however, thinks we may have hit a turning point in gun restrictions.
