Each year the History Department has some limited funds from the Annual Gift Fund available for course enhancement expenses.
Course Enhancement
Course enhancement funds are intended to assist faculty in enriching the content of their courses and providing students with unique opportunities. Grants may be used for transportation for field trips, admissions, tickets to performances, course materials, honoraria for guest lecturers, meals (must be approved by the dean), etc. If the course is a General Education requirement, department funds will be used to match GE course enhancement funds, which should be applied for directly through the GE office. Because of the very limited amount of funds available, preference will be given to faculty with a strong teaching record and commitment to mentoring students, and those who have sought college matching funds.
